Enterprise Design Systems, Product Manager | VISIT SITE
Evangelist, producer and user of design systems. Design systems enable anyone developing a product to focus on the end user and the ideal user experience. They are essential piece to any product.
As Nathan Curtis said, "A design system is not simply a style guide. It is a living thing whose value is realized only when products successfully implement the patterns of the system."
White Label Product Work
I was a contracted UX Lead for the leading technology solutions provider to the nearly US$8 trillion travel industry. I collaborated with the product team for over 8 months to change the client's white label airline solution.
Smithsonian Institution*
In 2013 I led the design for the mobile site, the redesign of SI.edu/giving and the site that launched the start of the Smithsonian's first public campaign.
NMAI Inka Road Exhibit Interactive* | ABOUT EXHIBITION
Leading role in the design and content development of the Inka Road: Engineering An Empire interactive kiosk. Exhibition opened to the public June 2015. Online exhibit
NASM Time and Navigation | VISIT SITE
The challenge for this project was to create an experience for the online user comparable to the in-person experience.
NMAI Living Maya Time* | VISIT SITE
A fun bilingual site that includes a math game, calendar converter and glyph interactive.
NMAI America Sabor* | VISIT SITE
This was my first Drupal site and bilingual site. I helped design and populate several sections including the interactive mixer. The mixer was later developed into a stand-alone interactive in the traveling exhibition.
Max M. Fisher Archives | VISIT SITE
This project started in a basement floor storage unit in Detroit, MI where the team discovered and scanned in 100s of photos, letters, articles, etc. that would help tell the story of Max M. Fisher. The story of this inspiring man had to be told correctly. He would not allow it any other way. Key features include a content rich educational resource section and 4 video narratives.
National Pizza Brand, UX Lead
First 6 months I was part of a team who collaborated with the client’s UX team and other stakeholders to determine key elements for redesign of customer’s online e-commerce website based on user experience research findings. I was responsible for UX research and design deliverables, strategic roadmap, team and executive touchpoint decks and presentations. I continued on with the team in a second engagement as the lead experience director for the initial redesign phase.
The National Campaign* to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy | VISIT SITE
This project taught me a lot about content strategy and presenting statistics. I led the redesign process starting with discovery through production and support. A key feature to the site is its data and resource section.
The National Campaign | Stay Teen* | VISIT SITE
This was my second site redesign with The National Campaign Team, which means we laughed a lot, worked hard and accomplished a site that within its first 2 months saw a huge jump in first-time viewers. A key feature includes the Ask Us Anything question and answer series.
Reynolda House Museum of American Art | VISIT SITE
A wonderful project that involved telling the story of the historic home of RJ Reynolds and its conversion into a recognized Museum of American art. Key features include a searchable collections center and historic timeline.
Fetzer Institute* | VISIT SITE
Fetzer is an organization that has a powerful message to share and it is critical that their site presents to the global community the story and the work they are doing accurately. Key features include project/work pages 100% manageable by their star, accessible blog and interactive Letting Go Practice.
Building Trust | VISIT SITE
I worked very closely with the team at the University of Maryland's School of Public Health to develop this unique site. It has found great success as a learning tool for researchers and the community. Key features include an animated introduction video and multimedia resource section.
Interactive Knowledge 2014 Redesign | VISIT SITE
It is always hard to design your company's own site. You are reminded of the work it takes to develop content and why it is so important to know the story you want to tell. In the discovery phase of the site I learned that our work at IK has been seen by over 5 million people and counting.
